We were delighted to be part of this forward-thinking contract project, delivering two beautifully tailored kitchens and utility rooms for a pair of newly constructed homes by Talo. Prefabricated in Finland and designed with sustainability at the core, these Zero Carbon homes are an outstanding example of energy-efficient living, boasting timber-framed construction, Net Zero emissions, and a top-tier EPC A rating.

Each kitchen is built around a sleek German-manufactured design, finished in a sophisticated Olive Grey with contrasting Black Walnut accents that bring warmth and depth to the overall aesthetic. A dark bronze handle rail and lacquered handles have been carefully selected to coordinate with the door finish, including seamless integration on the full-height fridge units for a crisp, modern appearance.
Design Inspiration & Concept
The design took inspiration from the homes’ forward looking ethos, pairing advanced sustainability with clean and modern aesthetics. The muted Olive Grey cabinetry was selected for its understated elegance, offering a refined base that blends seamlessly into the architectural surroundings. This was balanced with Black Walnut accents, chosen to add natural warmth and echo the timber framed structure of the homes.
Functionality was just as central to the concept. Every detail, from the dark bronze handle rails to the mirrored splashback, was chosen to deliver both form and function. The palette remains sophisticated and neutral, allowing the quality of the materials and craftsmanship to take centre stage while supporting a calm and uncluttered environment.
Designed with long term liveability in mind, these kitchens are a celebration of contemporary and conscious design, beautifully made for homes that represent the future.
Key Features and Innovations
These kitchens blend aesthetic sophistication with intelligent design solutions. The 12 millimetre Xtone Bottega Caliza porcelain worktops offer exceptional durability with a refined stone like appearance, while the recessed LED lighting ensures efficient and unobtrusive illumination throughout. A standout feature is the XXL Bosch fridge freezer, offering 45 percent more storage capacity than standard models, perfect for busy households.
Subtle details enhance day to day functionality, from integrated internal bins and generous drawer storage to the dedicated utility space for stacked laundry appliances. The addition of a grey mirrored splashback adds depth and light to the sink area, while the dark bronze handle rails and lacquered fridge handles provide a seamless and coordinated finish. Altogether, these kitchens are a thoughtful fusion of innovation, usability and enduring design.
